Myrtle Beach

...was awesome! It was great to have a vacation with the love of my life, minus kids. Every marriage needs to experience getting away sans children. We try to do that about once a year. I must admit, it gets easier when the children can take care of themselves.

There's really not a lot to blog about our time away. For five days it followed this pattern:
~get up at 9
~eat breakfast till 10
~get ready to go to beach
~spend until 3p on the beach
~get ready for dinner
~eat dinner at 5
~back to beach to enjoy evening ocean
~to bed to enjoy the next day all over

check out the awesome wine glasses!

On the sixth day, we drove back to Charleston to stay overnight since we had a 6am flight out the next day. On the way there, we decided to tour a plantation home. It was unfurnished and very roughly restored, but we enjoyed the tour and the history

We had to cross this really cool bridge (which ALWAYS makes my feet tingle!) to get into Charleston. I did not realize that Charleston is on a peninsula.

That evening we walked the streets of historical Charleston and ate great seafood.

And today it's back to reality!

The plantation pictures brought back memories of our 2 years in Richmond, VA as newlyweds - we loved it there! It looks like you had a fun, relaxing trip; makes me look forward to taking some vacations like this in the future, when the kids are a little older. . .

I can't imagine a vacation without a tag-a-long... let alone for a week! Some day!! This year our vacation was a week long camping trip. Morgan had a blast, therefore we did too!

It was fun to see your pictures. You are beautiful :}

hey malinda...how good to hear from you! i used to HATE it when "older" ladies would tell me how fast the years would go with little ones and to just enjoy every minute with them- so i won't say it! :) Let's just say that soon you will be able to get away, just the two of you.

Thanks for your lovely comment!
